OPTYGEN Formula
Salt Lake City, UT - May 5, 2003 - Focusing on increased effectiveness and standardized extracts, First Endurance has introduced a new and improved OPTYGEN formula. Athletes who have been using OPTYGEN can expect an even greater increase in power output, faster recovery, lower heart rates and other improved benefits with the new formulation.
OPTYGEN originally contained 7% cordycepic acid extract and 1% rosavins extract. The new second-generation Optygen formula is 7% cordycepic acid extract and 3% rosavins extract. "Clinical studies on elite endurance athletes have shown that it is the rosavins in Rhodiola that play a critical role in allowing the body to adapt to high levels of physical stress," says Robert Kunz, Sr. VP of Research and Development at First Endurance.
Kunz also points out that plants, herbs, and botanicals can vary from batch to batch and season to season. To ensure consistency, the active constituents in extracts are identified as pharmacologically active and are then standardized to a given strength. High quality formulations like OPTYGEN include standardized extracts instead of non-standardized raw ingredients. Potency in standardized extracts is important, and side effects can be of concern. "Numerous clinical studies on both Rhodiola and Cordyceps explicitly state that there are no contraindications, making these ingredients ideal for enhanced performance," states Kunz.
The improved formulation was released to dealers on May 6, 2003. While the formula has been improved, the pricing for OPTYGEN will stay the same. For information on the retailer nearest you, please visit www.firstendurance.com.
