Duathlon National Champions chose OPTYGEN

January 6, 2003- Duathlete National Champions Tyler Johnson and Andrea Ratkovic will be racing for First Endurance in 2003. Tyler and Andrea will be using OPTYGEN this year to help them take their racing to the next level. Both 2002 Duathlon National Champions will be doing triathlons this year and competing with the world’s best professional triathletes in 2003.

Tyler Johnson, who is only 23 years old, has been dominating the US Professional Duathlon circuit. Johnson was the highest placed American Elite Duathlete at the World Championships. Tyler was also the first American male to ever medal in an ITU Elite World Championship. This finish also marks the third year in a row that Johnson has been the top US Elite male. He was the only US duathlete to ever lead the US Elite team at the junior, Under-23 and Pro levels. In 2002, Johnson started competing in the Xterra National Off-Road Triathlon series. Tyler surprised the pro field with a 3rd place finish in the West Coast Championship at Half Moon Bay and a 4th Place finish at the National Championships in Lake Tahoe. “I'm looking forward to being able to train longer and race harder with OPTYGEN” Johnson explains as he prepares for a demanding 2003 season which includes his full Duathlon schedule as well as the Xterra National championship series including Xterra Worlds.

Andrea Ratkovik is the 2001 and 2002 Professional Duathlon National Champion. She was also the 2001 Duathlete of The Year and the 2001 Rookie Duathlete of The Year. Andrea is a professional cyclist, a professional triathlete and an Olympic trials marathon runner. Andrea explains when she tried her first bottle of OPTYGENTM she noticed something different. “After my loading phase, I really noticed a difference in the way that I felt during my hard efforts. In fact, they seemed to be more effortless. I was able to run harder and recover faster. For real, OPTYGENTM is THE true deal!” Andrea plans on extending her professional career by racing in Ironman distance races in 2003 and hopes she can surprise the field with a strong finish at the 2003 Ironman World Championships in Kona.
