"Nutrition is a major stumbling block for most endurance athletes." Says Robert Kunz, Sr. VP of Research and Development at First Endurance. "The new Food Pyramid says eating 8-10 servings of fruits and vegetables per day is what is needed to be healthy. The problem is that in real life it's next to impossible to eat 8-10 servings of fruit and vegetables every day. Most endurance athletes fall well short of this, even though their requirements are considerably higher than what the Food Pyramid says is necessary. Without supplements, athletes get sick more often, tend to plateau from their training and even suffer from overtraining syndrome. By adding high-quality supplements to their nutrition programs, they can easily get the levels of nutrients they need to train and race effectively day after day."
Jamie Whitmore has won 23 races, two US national titles, two European Championship Titles and one World Championship title since she added First Endurance products to her nutrition program back in 2003. Jamie has won more triathlons than any triathlete in history and she's still improving. "Since adding Optygen, Ultragen and E3 to my program, the quality of my workouts has noticeably improved. I'm going faster and recover better than before. Now that I'm using E3 too, I don't cramp anymore. This lets me focus on racing as hard as I can without worrying about my body shutting down. It's really reassuring to know I'm getting the best nutritional products available. First Endurance sports nutrition is a key component to my National and World Titles."
Ironman Triathlete Michael Lovato raced three ½ Ironmans and two full Ironman's over a 14-week period. In between these races, he trained 30 hours per week. That kind of training puts an enormous amount of stress on the body. Lovato has also experienced a benefit in his training and racing since taking Optygen, Ultragen and E3. "First Endurance products have allowed me to train harder and longer than I could in previous years. They help my body cope with physical stress. Interestingly, my body feels less broken down and fresher than it has with a less aggressive racing schedule. Plus, since I now have quicker recovery, I can train better and race faster. I can only attribute this to my regular use of Optygen, Ultragen and E3."
Josiah Middaugh turned Professional only two years ago. Like Lovato and Whitmore, he's also experienced a clear improvement in his training and racing since starting on the First Endurance supplement program. Middaugh has gone from being a top age grouper to 2X National Champion in two short years. "The bottom line is that I can put in more quality workouts more frequently and still recover. This improvement in my training allows me to run faster off the bike and on second and third hard climbs."
In July of 2005 Raynard Tissink joined an elite class of athletes. He became one of the few who has won two Ironman triathlons in the same year. Ironman training and racing puts a tremendous demand on your body. It's difficult for athletes to fully recover from one Ironman per year-let alone two or three. Since he added First Endurance to his training and racing program, Raynard's been able to increase his training load and recover better than ever. "My training has been really good, I don't have any trouble doing a week of training that I would have had trouble completing a year ago. The First Endurance products have taken my training and racing to a new level."
