"I started using OPTYGEN last winter. I wanted see if it would help me in my endurance build up before the classics. The main difference I feel with OPTYGEN is that I am able to maintain my endurance heart rate zones now. In the past, I always had a hard time staying in my target heart rate zones after a couple of weeks of high endurance training. With OPTYGEN, I feel like I can sustain the zone with more ease. This allowed me to continue training in my target zone and helps me achieve better endurance."

    Fred Rodriguez (Acqua & Sapone)

"Optygen is a product for the driven and goal-oriented endurance athlete in us all. As national and international athletes, we understand the importance of maximizing training through long hours and hard efforts. Optygen allows me to push the barrier in my training day after day with incredible results."

    Ben Jacques-Maynes

"Since I've been using Optygen I have been feeling as though I can recover better after a big effort. It's been a big part of my success this year so far."

    -Henk Vogels (Navigators)

"I have tried about every supplement under the sun in the pursuit of going faster on the bike and recovering more quickly...alarmingly the only thing most supplements did for me was lighten my wallet and leave a bad taste in my mouth!

The few I have found that DO work come nowhere near to the results I have found with OPTYGEN. I recover much quicker between hard efforts, which keeps in the hunt longer, no "ifs ands or buts", OPTYGEN works. If you don't find this to be true for you, by all means e-mail me and give me a piece of your mind!"

    Sincerely,

"I feel great! I have noticed that I don't have to hold back on extending too many efforts in a race thinking that I would not recover fast enough for a counter attack or other effort to bridge a gap on the road. My confidence has increased due to this and my body has recovered excellent for a repeat effort the next day. On the mountain bike I have noticed similar results in my climbing and being able to grind it out without and upping the tempo to see how far I will go."

"As an exercise physiologist, athlete, and coach, I have encountered numerous so-called "performance enhancing" supplements that have no evidence to support their claims. As a critic, I witnessed other cyclists benefiting from Optygen, but still deliberated for a few months before I decided to try it. I have raced bicycles for 12 years both on and off-road. Since I started taking Optygen, I have noticed several performance benefits. I am producing more power at a lower heart rate at all levels of intensity. During high intensity efforts, I experience less pain, breathing stress, and fatigue (both mental & physical). My HR recovers between efforts much faster than ever. Prior to Optygen I would require at least 2 minutes to get my HR from 170bpm to below 120bpm, it now drops from 170bpm to below 80bpm within 1 minute of recovery! As you know, the rider that can generate, sustain, and repeat the highest power output with the least physical stress is the most likely one to win a race. Once you try Optygen for 10 days you will understand why my opinion changed from skeptic to advocate! Optygen really works!!"

“The last month and a half of racing has been GREAT!! In between all the hard work, and with the help of OPTYGEN to get me though the workouts and racing, I had three of my best races at Elite Nationals. I set a PR in the pursuit and my best results in the points race. I was also on the winning team pursuit team.

As far as Worlds goes (William’s won three Gold Medals and set a World Record). It was my best competition as far as feeling like I could do anything I set my mind to. That is after I got the first race done and looked up at the timing board and it said WORLD BEST TIME!! I knew I was on a good ride but had no idea of what time it would be. I felt like I was recovering well after every race and could go 100% each time on got on the track. I set PR's in every race for the whole week. So I guess that after having my best year of racing and I'm now 35 year old. I can say that OPTYGEN really WORKS!! No doubts.”

"A couple weeks ago I did a 5 hour brick (4hr. ride 1 hr. run). I ended up throwing in some 20 minute cruise intervals on the ride. I couldn't believe how good I felt running after I got off my bike. I was able to sustain a fast pace without losing control of my heart rate.

I typically swim an hour every morning, run at lunch and ride for 2 hours in the evenings. Before I took optygen I was so much more tired as a result of this training schedule. Since I have been on the supplement I feel much more fresh. I roll out of bed each day feeling GREAT and recovered. I try to pay attention to my body and resting heart rate so that I can ensure that I recover adequately and don't over train. Since I have been taking Optygen my heart rate recovers much faster that I feel like I can do more then I have ever done before. I have a hill near my house where I do intervals on the bike. My times are dropping about .30 secs a week on Optygen with the same heart rate output."

    Jared Allen (Ironman Triathlete)

"What I noticed most is my ability to go out hard from bike to run. At Half Moon Bay and Chicago I was able to go right into race pace out of transition. I have previously needed a mile or so to settle into my normal pace. It also gave me the 4th fastest splits at both those races, only 30+ seconds off the lead. I feel like I have gained run fitness from out of nowhere, and the only thing I changed is the addition of Optygen. I am definitely feeling stronger and more energetic since I started taking Optygen."

    Jimmy Archer- Professional Triathlete

"It is quite amazing the amount of energy that I have when I take it. Not to mention the recovery and the lowered heart rate. In fact I forgot to take it one day and I really noticed a big drop in energy."

    Erik Burgan- Professional Triathlete

I have been taking Optygen for the last month. I immediately noticed beneficial results. I am an average Cat II racer with less miles in my legs than most of the I / II field. I don't use a SRM or any other wattage-measuring device. I simply listen to what my body is telling me. Before taking Optygen my heart rate would soar. I would average 167 bpm for a three-hour race with thirty minutes above 180 bpm, while remaining in the main field. This is high, I am 33 years old. After taking Optygen, at the recommended dosage, I can race at a lower heart rate and feel as though I am generating more power. I raced a week ago and a teammate and I were off the front for 60 of the 65 miles in thirty mile per hour headwinds. I spent two minutes above 180 bpm, and averaged 160 bpm. That is what I call results! However, the biggest benefit I have noticed is that my recovery time from intense efforts has been significantly reduced. I am able to attack aggressively, recover, and attack again. Because of this, I am racing better now than ever. In the last four races, I have placed in the top ten four times (2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th). These are better results than I got all last year!

    Doug Davis (Cat II Cyclist)

I have been taking Optygen for about 4 weeks. Let me say first, I am the world's biggest skeptic when it comes to supplements. With that being said... this stuff works! Especially during high intensity workouts or races. For example, my recovery time and heart rate have both decreased during intervals on the track. I used to jog 200 meters between 800 meter intervals to get my heart rate back down to where it needs to be to start the next interval. Recently, I have only been jogging 100 meters to reach this value.

"I felt as though my aerobic/anaerobic threshold is elevated. During Ironman Utah, I kept waiting for the bonk to come and it never did. I have been taking Optygen approximately 6 weeks now, and my perception is that if an athlete trains intensely and wisely Optygen will enhance both performance and recovery."

    Dave Ference (Ironman Triathlete)
    2001 Inside Triathlon All American
    2nd Overall 2002 Ironman Utah (non-pro)

I have tried all kinds of different products to help with my racing. Two weeks after I started to take Optygen, I began to notice huge changes. Some of these changes include: a lower heart rate at all efforts, much faster recovery times while making hard efforts (both training and racing), and a faster recovery time off the bike as well. While racing the effects really shine through. After a hard effort during a race I notice the time it takes me to get my second wind is dramatically reduced. It's a great feeling to know I'm recovered while the guy next to me is still wheezing while he tries to recover. For the first time this year, I am looking forward to doing time-trials. I get paranoid if I forget to take Optygen.

    Eric Flynn (Cat II Cyclist)

"After coming back from an IT Band injury early this season (which resulted in 12 weeks of no running); I was able to still run a sub 19 minute 5k at the 2nd annual 2002 Cinco de Triathlon. My legs were a little sore, but my lungs felt great...I attribute that to Optygen!"

Eddie Hill, M.S. Ed. (Off-Road Triathlete)

"I met the First Endurance staff in May of this year at a race in Utah. I read through the info and was impressed. I have a degree in Biology and the information and the science made sense. However, I have seen many a product in my years as a coach and pro athlete that did not deliver what they promised. Optygen delivers on its science. Since starting on the product I have seen a dramatic change in my racing. I can go at my high end for longer and in triathlons my transitions form swim to bike and bike to run are smoother and stronger. My triathlon season has been my best ever and I am a better all around athlete experiencing my best results in cycling, running and cyclocross races. I truly beleive that this is in part to Optygen. Thanks guys."

"This is my first year as a pro-triathlete and have been pleasantly surprised with the advantage that Optygen has given me in both racing and training. I have been taking Optygen for a couple of months and started to really feel the effects after the first month. Where I felt the benefits most while training on the bike climbing hills. I could really feel a difference in my heart rate, which stayed lower than ever before. The other advantage was that my legs weren't burning nearly as bad as they used to once I crested hills. Even my training partner noticed a difference because I wasn't breathing nearly as hard as he was on hard sets. As far a recovery goes, I believe I have not really had a bad training day yet. I have gone through all the stages of training thus far. Not to mention I have been very pleased with my racing results.

    Karen Holloway (Professional Triathlete)

Optygen has changed my general skepticism about supplements. I have been a Cat I for over 4 years now and have tried so many powders and pills in my 10 years of competitive cycling that it would really make you sick to your stomach. Since taking Optygen, I have seen a huge increase in my watts (power output) in my upper zone 4 heart rate. Optygen has clearly helped me hold a new level of lactate threshold training as never seen before. I want to make one thing perfectly clear to anyone reading this: I am not being paid to make these statements nor was I asked to submit these comments. This stuff is the real deal. No gimmicks just results! Thanks!

    Gardie Jackson (Cat I Cyclist)
Winner High Uintas Stage Race 2001

Optygen's benefits were a steady progression for me; taking about 10-14 days before I noticed the significant performance enhancements. Now I wouldn't train without it. I am training at a much higher training volume, but the largest change for me is seen in my heart rate. Within seconds of cresting climbs my HR drops into the 90's. I am very enthusiastic about the upcoming Triathlon season with Optygen!

Anthony Johnson (Xterra Off-Road Triathlete; Expert Mountain Biiker)

"Since I've been taking Optygen now for several months I have seen improvements in my swimming and cycling. For swimming, my recovery between intervals of 300 meters and greater has improved tremendously . In the past I was rarely motivated to swim workouts over 2000 meters. Swimming was the least favorite leg of the triathlon for me. I think one reason for this is because I would get frustrated as I tired in a workout and my stroke would deteriorate. Since taking the suggested serving size of Optygen, I have enjoyed long interval pool workouts with less recovery time, and no form break. As a result, my swim times have dropped.

All of my cycling disciplines have improved this year, especially mountain biking, criterium racing, hill climbing, and time trialing. I can attribute this to increased mileage. I feared long century rides and the long recovery the week afterwards. I have no problem riding for 5 hours now and feel fresh the next day. My mountain biking and criterium bike skills have also improved since I recover faster after steep climbs and sporadic sprints.

Optygen by itself will not make an athlete faster. The athlete must still put in the pool yardage and road/trail mileage. If Optygen helps an athlete recover, then an athlete can train harder and smarter, thus racing faster. This is what I've experienced since taking Optygen."

    Tom Knopp (Ironman Triathlete)
5th Men 35-39 2002 Ironman Utah (Hawaii Ironman Qualifier)

"I have been taking Optygen (every day) for three months now. Within the first week, I started to notice the benefits. I could recover from hard efforts faster than ever before. In addition, I can now train at a higher level and can climb faster than I have in eight years!"

    Jerry Larsen-Cat III Cyclist

"Optygen has been a great addition to my training and racing this year. I have noticed an increase in my ability to maintain long efforts (intervals and racing breaks) for longer periods of time and better and more immediate recovery. I do not have to let my herartrate go into my recovery zone as often or as long before asking my body to respond to heavy workloads time after time. From a result standpoint, this is the first year (after about 4 years of trying) that I have won a cat 1-2 race. As the second half of the season approaches, I will be focusing on longer races (Cascade Classic, Vail 100, and LOTOJA). Optygen will be a big part of my recipe for success."

    Scott Martin-Cat II Cyclist

“Optygen: In a word, AMAZING. I got to test this product in North America’s hardest one-day race (The San Francisco Grand Prix) and everything Optygen claims is true! I experienced higher power output at lower heart rate values! Plus, Optygen allows a huge capacity for workload and recovery. Basically no matter how hard of an effort I put in, I recovered and Optygen allows me to come back for more! Again, AMAZING!”

    Chris McGovern -
    Sierra Nevada

"Well, I've never tried many of these products but I saw the ad' in Velonews. It was really important for me to do well in two crits and a time trial this last weekend. So, I ordered the Optygen last Saturday, it arrived Tuesday or Wednesday, I powered down the loading doses everyday from Wednesday through the weekend.....so three days after starting I won the 40+ VA State Crit with a former National TT champ in a three up break, we were off the front from Lap one on.....I won the sprint (I'm not a sprinter). Then did very well in the Cat 3 State crit later that day....I tortured the field but was unable to stay away....finished in the field but top ten. The next day I took second in the 40+ and Cat 1,2,3 Chesapeake TT. My best previous 40k was 55:30 at last years Va State TT. Bottom line, I'm not sure, but man I felt great both days....albeit a little flat Sunday, but overall I loved what I think Optygen did for me. Take care and keep that Optygen coming."

    Duke Murphy (Master's Cyclist)

"Prior to starting my use of Optygen I had been experiencing a very frustrating few months of training. My body was unable to return to the level of fitness I had achieved last year. Psychologically I was getting discouraged about my situation and was having lots of self-doubt. Every weekend I was suffering on my local group ride and had trouble hanging on during the tough sections. Everything turned around within a few weeks of starting to use Optygen. I experienced a very noticeable increase in fitness and do not believe it was a mere coincidence. On the group rides I found myself doing much better and even riding at the front during the hard parts. I had always been skeptical of supplements and didn't like the idea that good nutrition alone wasn't good enough for maximum results. Well my attitude has certainly changed and I'm very grateful to have discovered Optygen."

    Lance Muzslay- Professional Ironman Triathlete
    8th Overall, 1st American, 2002 Ironman Australia

"I noticed the dramatic benefits of Opytgen when I found I recovered from intense stage races, at an much faster rate. In addition I was able to put out more power and stay in difficult races that I had always had trouble with before."

    Maren Osguthorpe (Cat II Cyclist)

"I started taking Optygen about 2 weeks before the Portland Marathon and finished in 3:39:17, my PR by 16 minutes. I just missed qualifying for Boston for my age group, 3:35, and plan to qualify in my next marathon on December 8th. With Optygen, I feel confident that I will"

    Don Schiele

"I've experienced some positive results mostly in reduced fatigue and quicker recovery times."

    Kenny Yeh (Triathlete)

"Finally, I found an endurance supplement that actually works! I started using OPTYGEN towards the end of my 2003 race schedule. I was beginning to make the hard push towards the series championship. Almost immediately, I felt a huge difference in my training. With OPTYGEN, I felt like I could continue to increase my training intensity and sustain that level for a longer period of time. The ability to recover during a race and training is nothing short of amazing. Thanks First Endurance for creating great products and keep pushing the research envelope!"

    Andy Krebs (Professional Adventure Racer)
